U.N. Russia – Ukraine vote February 2023.


February 2023 United Nations Resolution.

One Year after the Russian invaded Ukraine, the U.N. General Assembly voted to call for a cessation of hostilities in Ukraine and for Russia to withdraw its forces immediately.

The resolution for the “immediate cessation of the attacks on the critical infrastructure of Ukraine and any deliberate attacks on civilian objects, including those that are residences, schools and hospitals.” passed with 141 votes.

The 6 countries that chose to agree with Russia are:

  1. Belarus
  2. North Korea
  3. Eritrea
  4. Mali
  5. Nicaragua
  6. Syria

Russia, like the above 6, obviously also voted against the resolution, not wanting to stop those attacks on critical infrastructure of Ukraine and any deliberate attacks on civilian objects.

32 countries, including China, abstained from voting, not wanting to choose sides, for various reasons.
