The Parish of Boston is in the South East of Lincolnshire, England. St Botolph had a monastery built there in 654, with name changes from Botolph’s-town, to Bostonstow and then presumably to Boston.

Inhabitants from Boston, Lincolnshire went to America in about 1630, in the great Puritan emigration, and gave their name to what is now the capital of New England, Boston, USA.

Boston is 107½ miles by rail from London, the capital of the UK.
