Daimler was one of Britains oldest car makers, and the official royal vehicle from 1898.
1896
Frederick Richard Simms (British) founded The Daimler Motor Company Limited in 1896, and purchased the rights to use the name from his German friend Gottlieb Daimler.
1910
The Daimler Motor Company Limited merged with the Birmingham Small Arms Company (BSA)
1960
In 1960 Daimler was bought from BSA by Jaguar Cars.
