UK CPI Inflation Rate January 2023.
The UK Consumer Prices Index (CPI) rose by 8.8% in the 12 months to January 2023, down from 9.2% in December.
The UK Consumer Prices Index including owner occupiers’ housing costs (CPIH) rose by 10.1% in the 12 months to January 2023, down from 10.5% in December.
The Core CPI gauge (excluding volatile food and energy items) fell to 5.3% for the year.
The increase in the annual inflation rate in January 2023 mainly reflected price rises in the restaurants and hotels (10.8%), food and non-alcoholic beverages (16.8%), and clothing and footwear (6.2%) divisions.
