UK CPI Inflation Rate July 2023.
The UK Consumer Prices Index (CPI) rose by 6.8% in the 12 months to July 2023, down from 7.9% in June.
The UK Consumer Prices Index including owner occupiers’ housing costs (CPIH) rose by 6.4% in the 12 months to July 2023, down from 7.3% in June.
The Core CPI gauge (excluding volatile food and energy items) rose by 6.9% for the year. No change to June.
The increase in the annual inflation rate in July 2023 mainly reflected price rises in the restaurants and hotels (9.6%), food and non-alcoholic beverages (14.9%), and alcohol and tobacco (9.3%) divisions.
