Senator Tom Cotton – Racism comment.

Senator Tom Cotton has been criticised for making a statement to attempt to justify the slavery of black people.

The words used against his comments were: “His comments were criticised as an attempt justify the slavery of black people.”

His statement was: “US founders viewed slavery as a “necessary evil upon which the union was built“.”

It is recognised as a fact that it was considered an evil at the time,  and it is now, even more so.

Senator Tom Cotton was stating ACTUAL reasons at that time. Not a personal opinion of current reasoning.

Senator Tom Cotton said that “describing the ‘views of the Founders’ and how they put the evil institution on a path to extinction, a point frequently made by Lincoln, is not endorsing or justifying slavery.”

And that is making international headlines.
