Is All Purpose Flour Self Raising Flour or Plain Flour?..
All Purpose Flour is the American version of the British Plain Flour
Self Raising Flour has an added ingredient, baking powder, to enable it to rise while cooking. Sometimes bicarbonate of soda is added.
Self-raising flour does not last as long as plain flour, as the baking powder absorbs moisture from the air, adversely affecting its ability to rise.
