Volodymyr Zelensky, before becoming the sixth president of Ukraine in 2019, was an actor and comedian.
He also obtained a degree in law from the Kyiv National Economic University.
In 1995, at age 17, he competed in the KVN comedy competition.
In 2003 he started his TV Production company, Kvartal 95 Studio.
Between 2015 and 2018, he starred in the series “Servant of the People” playing the part of the President of Ukraine after a viral video showed him making a profane rant against government corruption in his country.
On 31 December 2018, Zelenskyy announced his intention to stand in the 2019 Ukrainian presidential election. He won this election with 73.23 percent of the vote.
His assets, before running for the real presidency, created from his films and comedy work were in the region of about 37 million Ukrainian hryvnia in 2018.
