How has the COVID-19 vaccination program worked regarding the reduction of COVID deaths in the UK?
Before the vaccinations began, there were 747.4 COVID related deaths per per day reported on a 7 day average. This was reported at 1st January 2021.
Three months later, the reports at 1st April 2021 are showing 46 COVID related deaths per per day, reported on a 7 day average.
That is a reduction of 700 deaths per day, now that almost half of the UK population has had their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
If the UK did what some EU countries have done, suspending vaccinations, such as The Netherlands stopped vaccinations with AstraZeneca for people under the age of 60 after five new cases of thrombosis among women. Of those, there was one fatality. Would there have been many more thousands of deaths from COVID instead?
Over the 3-year period of 2013–15, the average number of deaths from venous thromboembolism in England was 12,640 per annum.

On the 3rd April 2021, there were 3,423 cases reported with 10 deaths.
For the week ended 3rd April 2021, there were 27,912 cases reported with 254 deaths.
That would be an average of 3,987 cases per day and 36 deaths per day.
