Shepherds Pie


  • 500gm Mince
  • 1 small onion
  • Tomato Sauce
  • Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 Oxo Cubes
  • Frozen Peas

Add the onion to the mince, add one oxo cube and cover with water  and cook it for 20 minutes in the microwave, covered.

Allow to cool, until cold, then skim off the hardened fat that settles on the top of the water.  Strain off and retain the remaining liquid.

Place the meat in a suitable dish, add the peas, Worcestershire Sauce, Tomato sauce and the other oxo cube.  Add some of the remaining liquid, but not too much, just sufficient to keep the meat moist whilst cooking further.

Cover the meat liberaly with mashed potato, and cook at 200 degrees C for 20 minutes.
