World Support for Russia or Ukraine?
A recent report on the support of either Ukraine or Russia, based on the population of the relevant countries, has shown the following figures:
- 2.9% of the worlds population live in countries that support the Russian Invasion of Ukraine.
- 16.1% of the worlds population live in countries that condemn the Russian Invasion of Ukraine.
- 18.5% live in China. Non-committed but leaning to Russia.
- 11.1% are other non-committed, but Russian leaning countries.
- 20.3% are non-committed but Ukraine leaning countries.
- 32.1% are neutral.
It must be noted that these countries populations may or may not agree with their governments decision on which country they support.
One statement says: “two-thirds of the world’s population lives in neutral or Russia-leaning countries regarding war in Ukraine.” It is actually 62.6%, a bit under two-thirds.
Another statement could be “two-thirds of the world’s population lives in neutral or Ukraine-leaning countries regarding the Russian Invasion of Ukraine.” It is actually 68.5%, a bit over two-thirds.
The more relevant numbers would be:
- 36.4% support or lean towards Ukraine.
- 32.1% are neutral.
- 31.5% support or lean towards Russia. A very large amount of these are Chinese.
