Minimum Wage on Hong Kong from May 2023.
On 1 May 2023, the Statutory Minimum Wage (SMW) rate in Hong Kong, was increased to 40 Hong Kong dollars per hour.
It was last increased in 2011, to 37.5 Hong Kong dollars.
Average Wages in Hong Kong.
From different sources, we located very different average wage figures, causing some confusion. A couple of examples are:
Average Wages in Hong Kong increased to 17,635 HKD per month in the 4th quarter of 2022.
The maximum rate of average wage for employees was 17,304 HKD per month and minimum was 10,382 HKD per month. Data published Quarterly by Hong Kong Census and Statistics Department.

The average wage, according to data published quarterly by Hong Kong Census and Statistics Department, was 17,635 HKD per month at the end of 2022.
