In February 2018, the New York and London Police Departments were reported to have dealt with:
14 Homicides in New York (11 were originally stated with 3 non suspicious, although these were later re-classified)
16 Homicides in London (15 London Metropolitan Police + 1 City of London Police)
Homicide = murder, manslaughter and infanticide.
In the first six months of 2018 (January to July) the figures were somewhat different.
141 Homicides in New York (76% higher than London)
80 Homicides in London
An average of:
23.3 Homicides per month in New York
13.3 Homicides per month in London
February 2018 was an odd month during that period, as New York had its lowest rate of Homicide.
