I was just updating a page, when I received this message, and found myself blacklisted on my own site…

Access denied. Your IP address [xxxx] is blacklisted. If you feel this is in error please contact your hosting providers abuse department.

I could not access my site, either the admin section or the standard view.

I searched for more information on it, and found some very scary instructions to fix the problem, the scariest being that I needed to rebuild my entire website!!  One site, that seemed very knowledgeable, suggested that it meant the site had been hacked.

After a few minutes of panic, it went away, I was back in, everything was back to normal…

To be on the safe side, I did a site check using http://sitecheck.sucuri.net and found that my site is in fact clean.
