I was looking for Hotels in the USA, and heard someone mention the Tropicana Motel in Hollywood, but I have a feeling it no longer exists. The address was 8585 Santa Monica Blvd. West Hollywood, California.
Yep, I am right, it was replaced by The Ramada Plaza West Hollywood Hotel, way back in the 1980’s.
The Tropicana Motel famous as a rock-and-roll refuge and it’s black-tiled swimming pool.
Jim Morrison and Tom Waitsboth lived there.
Andy Warhol filmed Heat at the motel.
Janis Joplin and other celebrities partied, including Blondie, Led Zeppelin, Springsteen, Sam Shepard, the Clash, the Beach Boys, Elvis Costello, and Guns and Roses.
A few, not so famous, hotels in the USA…. 😉
