Travel between: Puerta Galera and Cebu

I thought it would be easy to get from Cebu to Puerta Galera, but I was wrong.

Almost every option included getting to Manila first, then getting down to Batangas for the final  leg, so:

Cebu to Manila:

Flying:

Cebu to Manila:  Between 3,390 peso (5am flight) and 4,960 peso (normal time flight)  for two of us with 40kg baggage. One Way.
This was with ZestAir, who were cheaper than CebuPacific or PhilAir on my chosen dates.

Ferry:

Cebu to Manila: Between 2,870 peso (Economy) and 3,550 peso (Cabin) for two of us.  I don’t think they weigh baggage on a ferry. One Way.

The flight is 1 hour, or the ferry is 23 hours.

Manila to Puerto Galera combined package:

SIKAT Bus and Ferry Package info from: malasimbofestival.com/getting-there

Price: 700 pesos each way.
8:30 AM – Si-KAT Bus departs at City State Tower, Mabini St., Ermita, Manila
10:30 AM – Arrival in Batangas Pier
11:00 AM – Outrigger boat leaves for Puerto Galera
12:15 PM – Outrigger boat arrives in Sabang Beach
1:00 PM – Outrigger boat docks in Muelle Pier

Manila to Batangas:

Bus:

Take the route via Lipa City, and the trip may take about 4 hours.  The trip via the Star Tollway may only take two and a half hours.
These Bus companies go to Batangas from Manila: Alps Bus Lines, Batangas Laguna Tayabas Bus Company, JAM Transit,
Philtranco, Tritran Transit Inc. The two in  Red may get you the closest to the Pier area.
Buses with both of  the signs “Batangas Pier” and “Calabarzon” appear to be the fastest route.
The Batangas Express Bus runs from: Cubao, Buendia to Batangas City in Batangas Province. The fare is about 200 pesos for the Air Conditioned Buses.

Air-conditioned Van (People-Carrier)

I have seen these for 4,000 pesos for a one way trip.

Taxi:

About 1,250 pesos according to http://www.worldtaximeter.com BUT, they may want you to pay the return fare, so maybe 2,500 ?  But in reality, you may well end up paying nearer 4,000 pesos.  However, this way can take as low as 90 minutes, if the traffic is right.

Batangas to Puerto Galera:

The only way is across the water, and you need to know which area to get to:  Sabang Pier, Muelle Pier, Balatero Pier or White Beach.

Option 1: RoRo Ferry

Montenegro Shipping Lines – Ferry from Batangas City to Puerto Galeras
The fare quoted was 204 pesos per foot passenger each way. This RoRo ferry also carry vehicles.
Quoted times 10:00 am and 10:00pm every day.  90 minute crossing time. Arrive one (1) hour before departure time.
This ferry only operates when it has commercial vehicles booked, so not a guaranteed trip every day.  It did not run on the day we wanted it, a Saturday.

Option 2: SuperCat and People carrier (Van)

The price for this combined SuperCat and Van Transport Package is: 650 pesos per person each way. (2012/2013). This includes the Port Terminal Fee, the Ferry Trip, the Air-Con van to Puerto Galera and the Tamaraw Falls side trip.
This modern ferry service goes from Batangas to Calapan City Port, in about 45 minutes. Then from Calapan City, an air-conditioned van runs to the passengers destination in Puerto Galera, via tourist spots like the Tamaraw Falls.

Option 3: Small Outrigger Boat.

These are OK if the weather is good, and the cost seems to work out at about  360 pesos each way, per person, inclduing all fees and taxes.
Father and Son Lines charged quote 230 pesos in April 2013, per person, one way, but they then add on the 30 peso terminal fee, so it becomes 260.  However, they charged me 310 pesos, an extra 50 pesos was added in.  I also had to pay the extra 50 pesos Environmental User’s Fee to the person taking us through.  Total cost 360 pesos each.
Going by their website, it seems it should have been only 310 pesos.  Maybe I was overcharged ?  I have emailed them to ask what the total should have been.

All Options: Extra Costs

50 pesos per person Environmental User’s Fee (EUF) and
30 pesos per person Terminal Fee.
