The Top Ten Countries, with GDP above 1 Trillion US dollars, according to the above criteria in billions of US dollars, in 2015 are:

  1. 17,947.00 United States
  2.  4,123.26 Japan
  3.  3,357.61 Germany
  4.  2,849.35 United Kingdom  (£1,863b)
  5.  2,421.56 France
  6.  1,815.76 Italy
  7.  1,552.39 Canada
  8.  1,376.87 Korea
  9.  1,223.89 Australia
  10.  1,199.72 Spain

The United Kingdom GDP

The United Kingdom is actually split into four countries, England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

GDP in GBP has been quoted as:

£142.0 billion Scotland
£  27.4 billion Northern Ireland
£  54.3 billion Wales

This would leave a figure of £1,639.3 billion for England.

In 2015 as a whole, annual onshore Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Scotland is estimated to have been £142 billion in total, or £26,500 per person.
The Scottish GDP for 2015 has been quoted as “nominal gross domestic product (GDP) of $233.3 billion per annum”.

Ireland in position 22 with a GDP of $238.03 billion is very similar to Scotland.

Another Report showing GDP by Purchasing Power Parity (PPP), has these figures:

If the European Union is classed as the new United States of Europe, then the top three would be:

  1. $19,390 China
  2. $19,180 United States of Europe
  3. $17,950 United States of America
