It seems that Dr Fauci did not actually say that.
He said that ‘Americans didn’t need to change their behavior patterns‘.
How the wording ‘Americans didn’t need to change their behavior patterns’ can be interpreted as ‘Americans have nothing to worry about’, is puzzling.
During a Feb. 29, 2020, interview, Dr. Fauci said that at that time and under the circumstances pertaining to that date, Americans didn’t need to change their behavior patterns.
