Trump to End Russia-Ukraine War?

Will Trump End the Russian Invasion of Ukraine?

It is reported that Donald Trump intends to end the Russia-Ukraine War, possibly by creating an 800 mile (1,287 km) demilitarised zone.

Neither Russia nor Ukraine are prepared to surrender any of their land.

Is it Trump’s intention to force Ukraine to give up its land, to put a stop to the current fighting?

Will that give Putin the encouragement that he needs to see that America does not plan to fulfill its promises to defend another country?

America promised to help in the defence of Ukraine once they gave up their nuclear weapons in 1994.

The 1994 agreement, known as the Budapest Memorandum, gave Ukraine a guarantee of security in exchange for them giving up their nuclear arsenal.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, Ukraine became the world’s third largest holder of nuclear weapons, but soon made the decision to completely denuclearise.

Under the 1994 Budapest Memorandum, the US, the UK and Russia all gave their guarantees to protect Ukraine.

Russia has broken this agreement, “by invading Ukraine“, but the US and UK have assisted Ukraine with military supplies, as have many countries in the world.

If the US also breaks this agreement, it allows Russia, China, Iran and North Korea, to feel more confident in their own ambitions for expanding their own lands
