Will Russia cause WW3?
The Russian invasion of Ukraine has apparently risked the start of WW3.
Russia invaded Ukraine again on 24 February 2022.
According to Russia’s state-owned TASS state news agency, the Russian lawmaker, Vladimir Dzhabarov has said that the United States, allowing Ukraine to defend themselves with US-made weapons that the Ukrainian forces can use to strike Russia, “is a very big step towards the start of World War III.”
Maria Butina, a Kremlin politician, said that the Biden administration was “trying to escalate the situation to the maximum“.
Dmitry Peskov, an official spokesman for the Kremlin, said that President Joe Biden was adding fuel to the fire and seeking to escalate the conflict in Ukraine.
Some military experts have stated that if Ukraine can now target supply lines and infrastructure in the heart of Russian territory, it could bring about the end of the Russian invasion.
If this war can be ended quickly, with Ukraine getting its territory back, many lives, including Ukrainian, Russian and North Korean could be saved.
It appears that the Russian leadership hasn’t realised that, they themselves, have created the possibility of a World War Three, with their military invasion of Ukraine almost three years ago.
Russia and WWII.
Very similar to when Russia, as the leader of the Soviet Union, together with the Nazi’s chose to invade Poland, causing World War Two to start.
The Soviet Union and the Nazi government, signed the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact on 23 August 1939, planning the division of Poland between themselves.
1 September 1939: the Nazi’s invaded Poland from the west.
17 September 1939: the Soviet Union invaded Poland from the east, in accordance with the secret protocol in the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact.
22 September 1939: the Soviet and Nazi forces celebrated the conquest of Poland with a joint military parade on the demarcation line established under point 2 of the secret protocol to the Nazi-Soviet Pact.
World War II started on 1 September 1939 and ended on 2 September 1945. A period of 6 years and 1 day.
Russia and WWI.
The First World War started on 28 July 1914 and ended on 11 November 1918. A period of 4 years, 3 months and 2 weeks.
The first fighting however did not occur until 4 August 1914.
Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia on 28 July 1914.
On 30 July 1914, the Russian leader ordered the mobilization of Russian forces to deter Austria-Hungary from invading Serbia.
The next day, 31 July 1914, Germany demanded that Russia demobilize. On 1 August 1914, when Russia refused, Germany declared war on Russia.
Russian Invasions of Ukraine.
Russia invaded Ukraine on 24 February 2022, with fighting still continuing. In November 2024, the North Korean government also sent troops to fight against Ukraine.
