The Office for National Statistics Labour Market Statistics, October 2011 report is showing that the UK unemployment rate has now risen to 8.1%, up from 7.7% for the previous quarter.
There was an increase of 114,000 unemployed to bring the total to 2.57 million unemployed people, the highest since 1994.
June-August 2011
- 29.10 million employed people
- 2.57 million unemployed people.
