Convert AVI to DVD

Video files downloaded as avi files need to be converted to a DVD format before they can be played on most DVD players linked up to a TV set.

To play on a computer, you can leave them as avi files, but that isn’t always convenient.

Free avi to DVD converters are a useful tool to get hold off, so far I had only tried “FreeDVD creator v2”, which seems to do a good job at converting, but I found it does take some time to complete.

I have also just tried AVS Video Converter 6 which is well worth looking at. I have just used the free trial version, and found it very easy to use. This version does show a watermark in the centre of the screen for a portion of the time, off and on maybe for about 10% of total playing time, but the ease of use, and output quality does make you consider buying it.

The following are in my list to try out:

  • AutoGk
  • FairUse Wizard
  • XviD4PSP
  • Avi2Dvd

VSO Softwares “ConvertXtoDVD video converter” appears to be good, but at a cost of about US$60, a bit expensive for the very occasional user.

iPad Video Converter allows you to convert just about any video (even high-definition [HD] video) or audio format into iPad supported video/audio formats, as well as extract audio from videos and convert them into iPad audio formats. It also can transfer output files to iPad directly after conversion.
This iPad Converter also gives you the ability to: split files; extract segments from videos; capture images from videos; output a file into multiple formats, amongst many other features. With support for multi-core processing, multithreading and batch conversion, you can convert multiple files easily, quickly and with exceptional quality.
Especially support NVIDIA CUDA & ATI Stream technology to bring you the great performance in video encoding.

I’ve tried a few DVD programs (trial versions) and so far not one of them comes even close to the quality of the finished videos I get with this DVD Creator. It’s very easy to use on either XP, Vista, or Windows7. Highly recommeded!
