SPECIAL NOTE:

The phone number 0450 078 884 is NO LONGER connected with this company. It appears to have been re-allocated.

Petfood 247 is an online pet goods supplier with a reputation that needs to be looked at.

They quote their contact details as:

There are numerous comments on many websites worldwide about their trading problems.

A Google search on the phone number “0450 078 884″ reveals a lot of information that a potential customer should take into account.

A Google search on their address “PO Box 3369 Bangor” also reveals more interesting information.

You can do your own searches to locate more information here:

A search on the website reveals relevant information such as:

Another company, Pets Force Warehouse Pty Limited, 61 East Parade, Sutherland, NSW 2232 is shown as having a website www.petsforce.com that was owned by a Gary McDuff. Tel: 02 9545 0122. This site is however now closed, it was created in 2008. The company itself was renamed in 2004 under ACN 065288548 and ABN
63 065 288 548. It was wound up (closed down) in 2010.

Unfortunately have just missed this hearing. Petfood247 stole $55 from my credit card by not delivering my goods. Petfood247.com.au are scammers and petfood247.com.au run a fraudulent website. I will be reporting my issue to dept of fair trading and to their web hosts, Net Registry, who have allowed them to continue trading despite hundreds of complaints. Let’s hope petfood247 is removed due to them acting illegally.

Petfood247 have been issued a public warning by the Department of Fair Trading. The Public were advised not to deal with Petfood247 after more than 400 customers credit cards were debited and no orders received. The public warning against Pet food 247 is listed below:

Public warning on PetFood247 and Gary John McDuff
    2 March 2011

Fair Trading Deputy Commissioner Steve Griffin today warned the public not to deal with online pet supplies business, PetFood247 and its proprietor, Gary John McDuff.

Mr Griffin said PetFood247’s website is http://www.petfood247.com.au and the business is based in Bangor.

“NSW Fair Trading has received more than 400 complaints about PetFood247 since November 2009,” he said.

“Additional complaints have also been received by consumer protection agencies in Victoria, Western Australia and South Australia.

“Complaints concern the late or non delivery of goods and the failure of the business to respond to enquiries about delivery.”

Mr Griffin said Fair Trading had previously sought and received assurances from Mr McDuff that he would institute a complaints handling process and improve his communication with customers over non-delivery or delayed delivery of goods.

“Fair Trading does not believe Mr McDuff has systems in place to enable him to meet orders within a reasonable timeframe,” he said.

“Mr McDuff has also been unable to demonstrate to Fair Trading officers that he has an adequate plan to improve his handling of complaints from customers.

“Complaints against PetFood247 and Mr McDuff continue to be received and the behaviour of the business and its proprietor constitute unfair business practices.”

Affected NSW consumers should lodge complaints with NSW Fair Trading either online or at any Fair Trading Centre. Consumers affected in other jurisdictions should contact their relevant consumer protection agency.

Consumers who have not received their orders and who have made payments via credit card should contact their bank to request a charge back.

The public warning has been issued under Section 86A of the Fair Trading Act 1987.

For more information or advice call NSW Fair Trading on 13 32 20.

    End Media Release.

Note that petfood247 is a shonky Australian online store NOT recommended if you want to buy pet products such as cat accessories, dog toys, dog products, cat products, and veterinary needs for your pet.

I too have been ripped off by Petfood247. I placed an order on the 9th February & still have not received my goods, nor has there been any response to my emails & numerous phone calls – voice mail box is always full!!!! I have contacted my bank but have to wait 30 days before they will look at reversing the payment. If a public warning has been issued how is the company still allowed to run a website & potentially rip off more people?

  • Martin Jacobs

I placed an order and paid by credit card on February 21st and like the above writer have not received my goods. Had no reply and the phone voice mail is always full. This man has got to be brought to justice – why is he still able to trade and what on earth are the authorities doing after all this time?

  • C Fares

Well this has come a bit late. I got done Feb 23/2 when i placed my order and nothing since. have sent 700 (thats right seven hundred yes!) emails, phone calls and posted a letter with no reply. This hearing was coming up and no-one was able to close down the site??? I believe his bank accounts should have been frozen and viewed to ensure that all who made payments were refunded. This hearing is just not good enough. He really has got away with it. I am sure he will open another store and practice bad service again and again. He should have been jailed that will put a stop to the crook.

ONGOING INVESTIGATION BY DEPT FAIR TRADE INTO PETFOOD247

Even though a damning offical warning advising the public not to deal with Petfood247 was issued by media release on March 2nd 2012, I have been advised in writing by the DFT that “Fair Trading’s investigation of this business is continuing…”

After phone contact with the investigating officer I feel extremely confident that our complaints are being taken VERY seriously. We know that whilest 400 complaints seems a lot, it’s bound to only be the tip of the iceberg. So I really encourage anyone who hasn’t made a complaint to the DFT to PLEASE continue doing so. If you know anyone who needs to do so please encourage them to.

New national consumer law was enacted early this year – Australian Consumer Law – which will hopefully be much more protective, so as much ammunition as possible is continually needed to help the ongoing investigation. So don’t feel foolish for being stung, nor that your little voice won’t be heard. People power and persistence is incredibly compelling.

What else you do?? Add to:
    :!: Facebook: Dont trust petfood247.com.au
    :!: Twitter
    :!: http://petfood247.blogspot.com/
:!: continue circulating the offical warning to as many online sites
    :!: http://petfood247sux.wordpress.com/
:!: place a copy of the media release in vets, dog groomers businesses etc go for it

Don’t underestimate people power, but you need to be part of it.

  • Darren Milo

Ditto to the above. Placed an order on 7 Feb without response. Thanks to all the details here from others, I’ll add my name to the DFT complaint list.

  • Leisa Dunmill

Another one sucked in. Placed my order back in December $123.00, who has that kind of money to throw away. This guy should be made to refund us all with interest.

  • Jennifer Young

Another one to lose money to this scam of a company. I live in Victoria. I ordered a dog door back in January $240.00 was taken immediately from my account. Of course no delivery and unable to contact. Why is this website up and running, and why is this guy not in goal?

  • Sonya D

I can not believe so many have been scammed. I placed my order in October 2010 and still waiting for it to be delivered, I have given up, and I can not dispute the transaction with my bank, I’m just lucky that it was only $32.

  • Linda

Wow, I’m so surprised this scam is still going on. I used to shop at Pet Force on East Parade Sutherland when it was open and the in store customer service was always great.

I ordered online from Pet Force website just before the store closed and my product wasn’t delivered. Thankfully I had used Paypal so received a refund without any problem despite many calls directly to the store asking them to address the problem. I just thought my experience a few years ago was a one off.

  • C Fares

Those that have lost money will need to request a ‘Charge Back Form’ from their bank and you will get your money.Mine took around 3-4 weeks. I contacted Consumer Affairs after they left a message and they said they were contacting those who had made a complaint to see if they would provide a statement which CA need to prosecute. However they’d declined because they got their money back. What this means is CA do not have a case.I was quite disappointed as I was happy to provide one to ensure this guy gets what he deserves and hopefully deter him from doing this again but he’s gotten away with it AGAIN! I cannot believe those people. I do encourage those to go all the way.

  • IMPORTANT FYI

This phone number 0450 078 884 is NOT connected with this ‘company’ any longer, it is in use by a regular person, and has been since Oct 2011. I DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING about this ‘company’ and have had MANY calls regarding it. Please DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER ANYMORE- thank you.

  • I have amended the original post to show this for you. I think it is wrong for telecom companies to re-issue phone numbers for companies that have such a bad reputation though. But I suppose it is difficult for them to know this.
