Some examples of our daily shopping prices in our local area of South East Queensland.

- Avocados: Â 9 cents each in the Victoria Point Fruit Market. (yes, NINE cents each)
- Bread: 650 gram sliced white Buttercup brand: $1.49
- Granny Smith Apples: $0.99 per kg
- Leg of Lamb: $8.99 per kg in Woolworths
- Butter unsalted: $1.39 for 250gm Homebrand
- Lurpack Butter unsalted: $7.00 for 500gm (2 x 250gm)
- Milk: $1.79 for 2 litres whole milk

the same brand, Ricci, but at a Major Supermarket is about $2.50 for only 300gm.

Had to buy an Iceberg Lettuce today. They were $1.99 in Woolworths, but only 79 cents each in the fruit and veg shop, and the fruit shop ones were better quality.
Sometimes I feel embarrassed going into the fruit shop, and spending less than a dollar.
An example from a short time:
$0.98 one kg of Tomatoes and 2 kgs of Apples !
But at those prices you just can’t resist
And unfortunately for the shop, I don’t get carried away with other purchases
