After finalisation of the Tasmanian election, both Labor and the Liberals have 10 seats each in the new parliament.
The Greens hold five seats, and therefore the balance of power.

Tasmania now waits to see if the ALP will hand over the parliament to Liberal, who had more votes than ALP.

The ALP leader Mr Bartlett has stated that the party with the most seats and votes in the event of a minority election outcome should govern.

Going by this, it appears he would be willing to let the Liberals take power due to the fact that the Liberals have the higher poll result.
